8th Pay Commission: Family unit formula will open your luck, basic salary will be up to Rs 69,000!
8th Pay Commission Central Govt Employees Salary Hike: A very wonderful and big good news may come soon for the central employees. Till now the government used to consider only 3 family units as its main basis for determining the minimum basic salary. But now the employee organizations have made a very strong demand to increase this important scope to 5 units. If the government approves this demand then the employees will be happy.
If the government completely accepts this new mathematics and formula of family unit, it will be of huge benefit. With this, there will be a bumper increase of more than 50 percent in the basic salary and many other allowances of central employees at every level. This will directly bring huge money into the pockets of lakhs of families in the country and their standard of living will improve. This will provide a lot of relief to the employees in meeting the expenses of their families in the face of rising inflation.
What is the formula of family unit?
While deciding the minimum basic salary of the employees, the Pay Commission looks at the total expenses of a family. This important calculation is called family unit in which the expenses of the family’s living, food, treatment and children’s education are added. In the Seventh Pay Commission, the family unit was considered as 3 in which the employee was considered as 1 unit and the children were considered as 0.6 units. Now, in view of the changing times and rising inflation, there is a demand for major changes in this old formula.
Demand for 5 units instead of 3
Employees’ organizations and NC-JCM demand that now while determining the salary, the family unit should be made 5 instead of 3. In today’s time, many employees also take full responsibility of their parents and in-laws, due to which the expenses have increased considerably. The new formula calls for giving 1 unit to the employee, 1 unit to the spouse and 0.8 units to the parents. In this way the total family unit will be considered to be around 5 which will result in a very spectacular and historic increase in salary.
Basic salary will be Rs 69,000?
In its suggestion, NC-JCM has proposed to increase the minimum basic salary to Rs 69,000 on the basis of a family of 5 units. Along with this, the demand of increasing the fitment factor to 3.833 has also been strongly placed before the government. Experts say that if the family unit had already been 5, the salary could have been Rs 27,600 instead of Rs 18,000. With the implementation of the new mathematics of family unit, there will be a huge and tremendous increase in the minimum basic salary.

Other allowances will also increase
The biggest and direct benefit of increasing the basic salary will be that all other allowances related to it will also automatically increase. Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Travel Allowance (TA) are also always calculated on the basis of basic salary. The Eighth Pay Commission is collecting complete information about salary and allowances from different departments very minutely. If this demand is fulfilled then lakhs of employees and pensioners of the country will get a huge financial relief.
