Sonam Wangchuk stood firm at Jantar Mantar for the seventh day, CJP warned about health

New Delhi: Climate activist and academic Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike entered its seventh day on Saturday. Cockroach Janata Party claims that Wangchuk’s health is continuously deteriorating and so far he has lost about 5 kg of weight. The organization is adamant on demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the examination.

According to PTI, CJP founder Abhijit Dipke said on social media platform X that Wangchuk’s health is deteriorating every day. He alleged that if the government did not take immediate action and Wangchuk’s health suffered any harm, the responsibility would be on the government. Dipke also raised questions as to why Dharmendra Pradhan has not been removed from the post yet despite alleged examination irregularities.

However, late Friday night Wangchuk welcomed the progress in talks between the central government and representatives of Ladakh. He said that thanks to the government for moving forward on the Ladakh issue, but now attention should also be given to ensuring accountability in the education system. At the same time, Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance also said that the deadlock in talks with the Center has ended and the way for the next round of talks has been cleared.

Meanwhile, six students belonging to All India Students Association are also on hunger strike on a separate platform at Jantar Mantar. His performance reached the 15th day on Saturday. This movement is getting support from many political leaders and social workers.

CJP’s movement, which started from June 20, is continuing with the demand of investigation into alleged irregularities in many national level examinations including NEET and fixing accountability in the education system.
