Be careful before staying in a hotel room! Be cautious before touching these 5 things
Whenever we go on holidays or business trips, a hotel room is no less than a home for us. But do you know that even five-star hotel rooms can be a haven for bacteria? You check-in at the hotel and immediately lie down on the bed or pick up the remote, but according to hygiene experts, these habits can take a toll on your health. According to a report, some normal looking things in the hotel room are home to millions of bacteria. Let us know which are those 5 things which you should be careful after touching. 1. TV remote control: The dirtiest thing in a hotel room is the TV remote. The housekeeping staff often fails to clean it. Every guest touches it, due to which a layer of germs and bacteria accumulates on it. Before using it, clean it with sanitizer wipes or put it in a plastic bag and use it. 2. Light and lamp switches We turn on the lights as soon as we enter the room, but have you ever wondered when that switch was last cleaned? Disinfectant sprays are not commonly used on switches, making them a favorite place for bacteria to grow. Don’t forget to wash or sanitize your hands thoroughly after touching them. 3. Bed cover and bed spread: Bedsheets are often changed in hotels, but thick bed covers or bed runners are not washed for several weeks. There is accumulation of dust particles and bacteria in it. The wisest decision is to remove the bed cover to one side while lying on the bed or while keeping things. 4. Coffee Maker and Kettle The coffee maker machine found in the hotel room may look shiny, but hardly any attention is paid to the cleanliness inside it. There is a risk of bacteria growing in the handle of the kettle and the nozzle of the coffee machine. Before using them, they should be cleaned thoroughly with hot water. 5. Carpet and Flooring Hotel room carpet may look clean, but it may be harboring dust and dead skin as well as bacteria from past guests. Never walk into a room barefoot. Always keep slippers with you and use them inside the room, so that you can stay safe from infection.
