How to pit an avocado without a knife
A simple avocado trick known as the push technique can help remove the pit without using a knife.

The method works by pressing the pit out from the back of the avocado half. It is quick, easy and suitable for most avocados.
Start by cutting the avocado lengthwise around the pit, then twist the two halves in opposite directions to separate them, leaving the pit in one half. To avoid using a knife altogether, hold the fruit firmly while twisting, or use a spoon to break through the skin, according to AOL.
Place the avocado half with the pit facing upward and support it from underneath with your fingers. Then press your thumbs against the skin directly behind the pit until it pops out.
The trick works best with ripe avocados, when the pit has naturally loosened from the flesh. It can also work on a partially ripe avocado, though more pressure may be needed.
If the pit remains stuck, the fruit may need another day or two to ripen. Other safe methods include sliding a metal spoon under the pit and lifting it out, gripping it with kitchen tongs, or wrapping the pit in a cloth or paper towel for better traction before twisting it free.
