New Delhi: The Central Government has announced the dates of the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed that the monsoon session of Parliament will start from 20 July 2026 and will continue till 13 August 2026. During this period, many issues of national importance, legislative work and various bills are likely to be discussed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Kiren Rijiju shared the post
While sharing the post on social media platform X, Kiren Rijiju said that President Draupadi Murmu has given permission to convene both the houses of Parliament after approving the recommendation of the Central Government. He expressed hope that during the session there will be meaningful debates on various national issues and important decisions will be taken.
Why is the monsoon session becoming important?
Let us tell you, this monsoon session is also considered very important from the political point of view. This will be the first session of Parliament after the political changes that have taken place in Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) in recent times. Due to these developments, the strength of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha has become stronger than before. However, the final decision regarding recognition of the concerned MPs as a separate group is still pending at the level of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Which bills will be listed
After the recent elections in Rajya Sabha also, the numerical strength of the ruling party has strengthened, which can help the government in carrying forward its legislative agenda. It is believed that the government may introduce many important bills in this session. However, official information regarding which bills will be listed has not been revealed yet.
There may be uproar on issues related to NEET
On the other hand, the opposition is also preparing to corner the government on many issues. The opposition can seek answers from the government on issues related to National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), developments in various political parties and inflation. Apart from this, there is a possibility of discussion regarding fuel prices after the change in international circumstances.
This session of Parliament is considered important for both the government and the opposition. On one hand, the government will try to push forward its legislative agenda, while on the other hand, the opposition is making a strategy to put the government in the dock regarding public interest and contemporary issues. In such a situation, sharp but important debates can be seen on many important topics in the Houses during the upcoming monsoon session.
