Haridwar. VIP Ghat, one of the most sacred and sensitive places of religious city Haridwar, is in the news these days for a very shameful reason. In the region of Mother Ganga, where people come from far and wide in search of salvation and spiritual peace, a sensational case of bar girls dancing on obscene songs has come to light. The video of this incident has spread like wildfire on social media, after which the anger of the saints and religious organizations of the pilgrimage city has reached the seventh heaven.
Actually, this whole brouhaha broke out during a big program named ‘Farmers’ Mahakumbh’. This stage was decorated to discuss the problems of farmers and their rights. But, suddenly the dignity of the program was put on hold. Instead of discussing serious issues, dancers started dancing obscenely on the stage.
A touch of obscenity on the stage of Kisan Mahakumbh
It is being said that the objective of the program was very noble, but the organizers crossed all limits of decorum in the name of gathering crowd or entertainment. According to the local people, at the time when there should have been chanting of mantras and blowing of conch shells on the holy banks of Ganga, obscene songs were being played at high volume. Someone secretly captured the video of this entire scene in his mobile and posted it on the internet. Within no time the video went viral and it took the form of a big controversy.
The saint got angry and said – playing with faith will not be tolerated.
As soon as the video surfaced, there was a huge uproar among the saints and various religious organizations of Haridwar. Officials associated with Ganga Sabha and local sages and saints have expressed strong objection to this. The saints clearly say that such an act at a holy place like VIP Ghat is a direct attack on Sanatan Dharma and Hindu faith. Haridwar is not a picnic spot, it is a global pilgrimage site. In such a situation, an attempt is being made to tarnish the image of Dharmanagari by spreading such vulgarity on the ghats, which will not be tolerated at any cost.
Administration and police investigation started
Amidst this huge anger, now the district administration and police have also come into action. Saints and religious organizations have demanded strict legal action against the organizers. People say that the administration should investigate who gave permission for such dance at such a religious and sensitive place and why? At present, the police is carrying forward the investigation on the basis of the viral video and the organizers of the event are being identified so that strict action can be taken against them, so that no one can do such a thing again in future.
