PM Modi congratulated Trump on the 250th anniversary of US, said ‘India-America friendship is a force for good’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated President Donald Trump and the American people on America’s 250th Independence Day. He based India-US relations not just on strategic partnership but on shared democratic values. "force for global good" told.

PM Modi said in his message, "On behalf of 1.4 billion Indians, I heartily congratulate President Trump and the people of America on the historic 250th anniversary of your independence."  

He further said that India and America believe in democracy, rule of law and the immense potential of our citizens. For this reason, the friendship between the two countries is an example for the world.

Expressing hope about the future, the PM said that the coming 250 years should bring prosperity, peace and progress for America. Also, India-America partnership should also reach new heights.

Modi-Trump met in G7   

This message of PM comes a few weeks after the G7 summit held in France. This was the first face-to-face meeting of the two leaders since February 2025 in Evian-les-Bains. After the meeting Trump "very good conversation" Told and said, "Relations between India and America are very good. We couldn’t be closer than this."  

This meeting was also important because in the last few months, relations had turned sour due to the tariff dispute, Trump’s statements on India-Pak issue, US immigration rules and the death of 3 Indian sailors in an attack near Oman. Nevertheless, both leaders expressed their desire to further deepen strategic and economic cooperation.

Trump’s "Great American State Fair" Plan
