‘Maatrubhumi’ makers set record straight ahead of anticipated release
The team behind Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has had enough of the rumours, and they’ve come out swinging.
Reports had been doing the rounds suggesting the film ran into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification, with some outlets claiming its clearance had been put on hold. The makers want none of it.
In a statement released on July 4, they said plainly: “Any claims suggesting that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has encountered issues with the CBFC or that its certification has been put on hold are false. The film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification. Therefore, such reports are entirely baseless.”
They also asked people to stop circulating unverified information and said any official updates would only come through Salman Khan Films’ official channels.
This is not the first time the film has been in the news for the wrong reasons.

Previously titled Battle of Galwanit was originally supposed to release in April before getting pushed back. Since then, there’s been talk of reshoots, creative changes, and now this CBFC speculation.
Industry whispers have suggested it might land in cinemas around Independence Day in August, but again, nothing official yet.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film also stars Chitrangada Singh.
