‘Am I dead?’ Mamta Banerjee’s sharp statement on TMC controversy, herself took command of the state president
Tezzbuzz Desk – Amidst the huge turmoil in the politics of West Bengal, internal disputes and organizational changes in Trinamool Congress (TMC) have taken a new turn. After the defeat in the assembly elections, amidst issues like party rift, defection and office dispute, former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has taken a big step and announced to take charge of the state organization herself.
Took the responsibility of State President himself
Mamata Banerjee announced through Facebook Live on Saturday that she will now play the role of state president of Trinamool Congress. He said that due to Subrata Bakshi being unwell, he has decided to take up this responsibility himself.
He also announced the appointment of MLA Kunal Ghosh and former minister Madan Mitra as general secretaries of the party.
Statement on party symbol and leadership
Reacting to the ‘real TMC’ controversy, Mamata Banerjee sharply questioned whether she and the party were considered finished. He said that no matter who claims the symbol, no one can suppress its presence and voice among the public.
Announcement of martyr meeting on 21st July
Mamata Banerjee also announced that a martyr’s meeting of Trinamool Congress will be organized on July 21. He said that despite administrative hurdles, this program will definitely take place in some form or the other. He alleged that unnecessary restrictions were being imposed on political rallies in Kolkata.
Sharp attack on rebels and opponents
Taking aim at the leaders who rebelled within the party, Mamata Banerjee said that those who are now leaving the party after winning the elections on TMC ticket, should directly join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He alleged that some people were working against the organization and trying to weaken the party.
Cleanliness on organization and property dispute
Giving clarification on the controversy over TMC office, he said that the party office is the property of the organization and not of any individual. He claimed that all the documents and payment records related to the rent were present.
Responding to the discussions raised regarding Chandrima Bhattacharya’s resignation, Mamata Banerjee said that the party is not dependent on any one person, rather it is an organization based on the support of workers and the public.
