What does Bhagwat Purana say about Krishna’s brothers who were killed by Kansa?

There are many such texts and Puranas in Hindu religion, in which stories and incidents related to Gods and Goddesses are told. A special story related to the sons of Mother Devaki has been mentioned in this book. Before giving birth to Lord Krishna, Mother Devaki gave birth to 6 sons, who were killed by Kansa. According to Bhagwat Purana, Kansa killed six brothers of Lord Krishna by thrashing them on stones shortly after his birth. Devaki Mata’s six sons died not just because of Kansa but because of their karma from their previous births.

Who were the 6 brothers of Lord Krishna?

According to the story of Bhagwat Purana, once Mother Devaki became sad remembering her 6 sons. She expressed her desire to Lord Krishna that she wanted to see her sons once again. After this Lord Krishna and Balram went to Sutal Lok to bring them back.

In Sutal Lok, King Bali gave interesting information about the 6 brothers of Lord Krishna. He told that those six children were not ordinary humans, but were sons of gods. King Bali told that he was the son of Brahma ji’s Manasputra Prajapati Marichi and Urna Devi, who were cursed by Brahma ji in their previous birth. Due to this curse, Kansa killed him in his next life.

Why did Brahma ji curse Krishna’s 6 brothers?

Once, seeing Lord Brahma, Marichi’s six sons started laughing loudly. Seeing this, Lord Brahma got angry. Making fun of them proved costly for Marichi’s six sons because Lord Brahma cursed them. Lord Brahma cursed that Marichi’s six sons would be born in Asur vagina, after which they would be born in Devaki’s womb. However, he would be murdered shortly after birth. Due to this curse, six sons of Mother Devaki were killed.
