Ukraine’s big drone attack on Russia again, targeted oil refinery and military bases in St. Petersburg
Moscow/Kiev. Ukraine launched another major drone attack on Russia last night. Released hundreds of drones simultaneously. Ukraine targets oil refinery and military targets near Saint Petersburg. Russia’s Defense Ministry admitted that about 500 drones were involved in this attack. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also released a video of this attack on X. In this, a huge plume of smoke is seen rising from an oil facility located at the port of St. Petersburg.
President Zelensky said Ukraine had successfully attacked an oil facility at St. Petersburg port as well as military targets around the Kronstadt naval base, US channel ABC News reported. Russia’s Defense Ministry said that about 500 long-range drones were involved in this attack. Moscow’s mayor said 200 drones targeted the Russian capital. Ukraine is now carrying out almost daily successful attacks on oil refineries and infrastructure deep inside Russia, as well as defense industry centers. He is using long range drones in attacks.
According to the report, after the Ukraine attacks, there is a fuel shortage in many areas of Russia. People are making videos of themselves waiting in long lines at gas stations. At the same time, Russia’s difficulties on the battlefield appear to be increasing. Ukraine’s increasingly effective campaign using medium-range drones is targeting Russian logistics and trying to disrupt supply lines into occupied Crimea. Authorities in Crimea have declared a state of emergency due to fuel shortages and imposed a curfew amid power cuts caused by Ukrainian attacks.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited a military base at night wearing uniform. Russia’s military claimed on Saturday that it had captured the city of Kostiantynivka, a key defense center in Ukraine’s eastern Donbass region. International analysts say that if this claim is true then it can be called a big success for Russia. This would be Moscow’s first major battlefield success this year.
According to Konrad Muzyka, a Polish defense analyst and director of Rochan Consulting, Russia is advancing very slowly and may have lost more territory overall than it gained in May. According to independent critics and intelligence reports of Western countries, the Russian army has had to pay a heavy price in this battle.
