Akshar Patel created a new history in T20 International cricket, became the first Indian spinner to reach this special milestone by completing 100 wickets.

During the match played in Manchester, he completed his 100 wickets in T20 international cricket by taking the wicket of England captain Harry Brook. With this achievement, Akshar has become the first spin bowler from India to touch the figure of 100 wickets in this format.

Akshar Patel achieved this historic feat in the 98th match of his T20 International career. In the initial phase of the match, he got the honor of reaching his 100th wicket by dismissing Harry Brook with his accurate bowling. Axar, who has consistently performed impressively, once again proved that he is one of the most reliable players of the Indian team in limited overs cricket.

So far in Indian cricket, many spin bowlers have performed brilliantly at the T20 international level, but no one could reach the figure of 100 wickets. Akshar Patel ended this long wait and registered a unique record in his name. Earlier, only fast bowlers from India had achieved this feat.

Axar Patel’s name has now been included in the list of bowlers who have taken 100 or more wickets in T20 International cricket for India along with Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya. However, among these four players, Akshar is the first spinner to achieve this position. Whereas, Yuzvendra Chahal remained closest in this list with 96 wickets, but he has not yet reached the figure of 100 wickets.

Akshar Patel has continuously improved his game over the last few years. His ability to bowl economically with the new ball as well as control the run rate in the middle overs and take wickets when needed has proved extremely useful for the Indian team.
