UP Weather Update: Lightning and rain can become a disaster in Eastern UP, Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain.

Monsoon is once again gaining momentum in Uttar Pradesh. The rain is bringing relief to the people who have endured the scorching heat, but along with it, alarm bells have also rung for some areas. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a lightning alert along with heavy thunder and lightning in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh on Monday, July 6. The department says that people need to be extremely cautious during this time, because lightning can cause major damage to life and property.

In fact, for the last few days, the scorching heat in different parts of the state had made life difficult for the people. But now the latest satellite images have surfaced, showing that dark clouds have started gathering in the sky of eastern Uttar Pradesh. According to meteorologists, there will be a major change in the weather in the districts of Purvanchal within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Danger of lightning in eastern UP

The weather department has issued a warning especially for the districts of eastern UP. It is being told that on July 6, there will not only be rain in these areas, but there is a strong possibility of thunder and lightning along with strong winds. The local administration has also appealed to the people in view of the warning of the Meteorological Department that during bad weather, they should take shelter in pucca houses only and avoid standing under big trees or electric poles. In rural areas, where paddy transplantation is currently underway, farmers have been advised to take special precautions.

How will the weather be in Western UP?

On one hand, terrible form of clouds can be seen in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, while on the other hand, people of Western UP may have to wait a little longer. However, the people there do not need to be completely disappointed. According to the Zonal Weather Centre, clouds may develop locally in some parts of western UP, due to which there is a possibility of light showers or light rain at isolated places. This will cause a slight drop in temperature and may provide minor relief from humidity.

Monsoon speed and further forecast

Actually, this time a slight fluctuation is being seen in the speed of monsoon. Weather experts say that due to the moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal, the system is becoming stronger in the eastern parts. This is the reason why the weather may adopt a more aggressive attitude in the surrounding districts including Gorakhpur, Ballia, Ghazipur, and Varanasi. The Meteorological Department is continuously monitoring the situation in the coming days and as the system progresses, heavy rains are expected to start in other parts of the state as well.
