People suffering from humidity in Agra, alert of heavy rain on 9-10 July

Agra: In the Taj city of Agra, the scorching sun and humid weather have increased the problems of the people since Monday morning. Despite slight movement of clouds in the sky, the effect of sunlight did not diminish, due to which the heat started being felt more as the day progressed. According to the meteorological department, Light rain or drizzle with strong winds in the afternoon Might be possible. Due to the strong sunlight since morning, people coming out on the streets had to face a lot of trouble. Due to high moisture in the air, the humidity continued to increase, due to which the effect of heat was felt more than normal. In markets, offices and public places, people were seen using umbrellas, pots and water bottles to protect themselves from the sun.

According to meteorologists, at present the amount of moisture in the atmosphere is high and monsoon activities are gradually becoming active. For this reason, there is a possibility of change in the weather after noon. Along with strong winds, there may be light rain or drizzle in some areas, which will cause a slight drop in the temperature and people may get some relief from the humidity.

Although the Meteorological Department says that 9th and 10th July Monsoon is likely to become more active during. During this period, there may be moderate to heavy rain in Agra and surrounding districts. There is also a possibility of strong winds, thunder and lightning at some places.

In view of the possibility of rain, the district administration has instructed the concerned departments to remain alert. The Municipal Corporation has been asked to maintain the proper drainage system, clean the drains and keep special vigil on the areas prone to waterlogging. The electricity department has also been instructed to be prepared to deal with possible disruptions during bad weather.

Agricultural experts believe that if there is good rain on July 9 and 10, Kharif crops will benefit from it. Due to increase in moisture in the fields, farmers will have to reduce their dependence on irrigation and sowing and growth of other crops including paddy will also benefit.

Health experts have advised people to drink adequate amount of water, wear light cotton clothes and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight during afternoon hours during intense sunlight and humidity. Children, elderly and sick people have been told to take special precautions, as the risk of heat stress and dehydration can increase due to humidity.

The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to avoid standing in open fields, near trees and electric poles during inclement weather and follow the meteorological advisories issued by the department.

At present, the effect of strong sunlight and humidity continues in Agra, but according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the weather may change rapidly in the next two-three days. If there is good rain on July 9 and 10 as per the forecast, the temperature will drop and people who have been suffering from heat and humidity for a long time are likely to get great relief.
