Jewelery worth 40 lakh euros stolen from French museum – Read

Thieves carried out a major theft in the Lalique Museum of France on Sunday morning. Where despite high security, the thieves who entered by breaking the door stole about 20 jewelery from the museum. The value of the stolen jewelery is estimated to be around 40 Euros (about Rs 40 crore).

News agency AFP, quoting sources, said that masked thieves broke the door of the famous ‘Lalique’ museum located in Wingen-sur-Moder, north-eastern France, at around 5:30 am local time on Sunday morning and went straight to the jewelery room.

After this the thieves ran away with about 20 crystal ornaments. At present the damage is being assessed and investigation is going on to catch the thieves. After the theft incident, the museum has announced that it will remain closed for several days.

The thieves ran away as soon as the alarm sounded

According to AFP sources, “After the alarm was raised, the security company was investigating, but before that, a cleaning lady reached the spot and immediately informed the police.” But despite the alarm being raised, the thieves managed to escape before the police arrived.
