First he used to give intoxicants, then he used to have relations with girls; As soon as he became unconscious, he used to do even more ‘dirty work’.
The death of a 61-year-old woman under suspicious circumstances has shocked even her friends as she had promised a few days ago that she would end her relationship with the rapist. Kelly Faiers, 61, a mother of three, was found dead in the home of a serial rapist, but police were unable to arrest him because they did not initially find the case ‘suspicious’. Kelly Faiers, 61, was found dead by paramedics in Minehead, Somerset, on 15 October 2023. His partner Richard Scatchard (who had also committed crimes before) called an ambulance to the house. Richard Catchard, 70, was convicted of several crimes in the 1980s and 1990s, including rape, indecent acts, attempted kidnapping and drugging his victims.
Was using the name Richard Dunlap
The latest revelation in the investigation into Kelly Fairs’ death is that her rapist partner was using the name Richard Dunlap during a romantic relationship that lasted for several months. It is said that Kelly Fairs was looking for a way out of this relationship before her death. Somerset Coroner’s Court was told that Scatchard was convicted of preying on four women. He met them all online or through ‘Lonely Hearts’ ads.
Used to rape when he expressed his desire to maintain distance
When Richard Scatchard felt that his relationship with his victims was about to end, he would exploit them by drugging them. After this, when she became unconscious, he used to make videos and photos of his exploitation. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in this case in 2001, but became eligible for parole after only five years and four months and was finally released on ‘life licence’ (a condition of lifelong supervision) in 2013.

Information about his relationship with a woman was given to the police and probation department and both had contact with his then girlfriend. Their relationship is believed to have broken down before Scatchard moved to Minehead in 2020 and met Kelly Faiers. Kelly Faiers, 61, was found by paramedics in Minehead, Somerset, on 15 October 2023. His partner and convicted criminal Richard Scatchard had called an ambulance at the home.

Kelly was emotionally forced
In fact, despite Catchard’s history of drugging, raping, and abusing women, when police arrived at the scene of Kelly Fairs’ death, they did not arrest anyone, noting the circumstances were suspicious.

On the other hand, during the investigation, messages between Scatchard and Miss Fairs revealed that the accused was pressurizing her to take up to ten pills at a time and he had also expressed his desire to have sex with her when she was unconscious. At the same time, the court was told that at the behest of her colleagues, she had promised that she would end the relationship, which had given them ‘relief’. But it seems that she has agreed to meet Catchard again.
