ICC announces ICC Women’s T20 World Team of the Tournament, one Indian player included
Australia defeated England in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, and now the ICC has announced the Team of the Tournament. Four Australia players have made it to the squad, while England, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Ireland, and Sri Lanka have been given representation by the apex body of international cricket.
Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Ash Gardner, and captain Sophie Molineux, the four Aussie players, have been rewarded for their performances. South Africa all-rounder Marizanne Kapp was one of the main contributors for the Proteas, and she has made it to the team.
England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge scored 302 runs from seven games at an average of 60.40 and a strike-rate of 149.50. She smashed an unbeaten century against Sri Lanka and posted two half-centuries, becoming the first batter to accumulate 300 runs in a single edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
Australian wicket-keeper-batter Beth Mooney was named the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament for managing 238 runs at an average of 47.60. She scored 64 runs in the final against England, with Australia securing a 7-wicket win. She took five wickets behind the stumps.
England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt missed a few games due to injury but still scored 227 runs from just four games at an average of 113.50. She amassed 75 and 58 in the semi-final and final of the tournament.
Veteran Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry contributed 198 runs and four wickets, including key performances against India and Pakistan.
Irish all-rounder Orla Prendergast’s 181 runs and six wickets led to her inclusion. Sri Lanka’s Nilakshika Silva was impressive for her team. South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp scored 124 runs and took 8 wickets.
Australian all-rounder Ash Gardner amassed 150 runs at a strike-rate of 170.45 while also picking up three scalps.
Pakistani captain Fatima Sana added 11 wickets to her bowling figures and also accumulated 8 runs. Australia captain Sophie Molineux led from the front and claimed 11 wickets at an economical rate of 6.75.
India spinner Sree Charani was the leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets from five games.
Scotland opener Darcey Carter, who scored 208 runs at an average of 52.4, is the 12th player.
