Not Darjeeling, Mirik and Kalimpong are going to be new destinations in tourism! This time 100 crore rupees are being allocated to decorate Mirik. This work will be done with the help of the Centre. State Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh announced this at the Bengal Chamber of Commerce function. He again said that the aim is to take northern tourism to the top in the world. He also criticized that the previous government did not do anything about tourism.

But in the last 15 years, the people of Bengal did not understand that there is a tourism department. We will do whatever will benefit the tourists. We will know what they want.”
