Zimbabwe has defeated Bangladesh by 25 runs in the first ODI match. The special thing is that Zimbabwe has defended the score of only 141 runs, which is the lowest score ever successfully defended by Zimbabwe in ODI history against Bangladesh. Not only this, the score of 141 runs defended by Zimbabwe is the fourth smallest total in the history of ODI cricket.

After this, it seemed that Bangladesh would achieve this easy target and register victory, but while chasing the target, Bangladesh’s team was bowled out by Zimbabwe bowlers for just 116 runs in 33.1 overs and won by 25 runs.

Bangladesh team limited to 116 runs

Bangladesh had a very bad start to chase the target of 142 runs given by Zimbabwe. The team had lost 3 wickets on the score of 17 runs. After this, there was a partnership of 49 runs between Tauheed Hriday and Nurul Hasan, but then Tauheed Hriday was out. Tauheed Hriday scored 28 runs on 58 balls. After this, Bangladesh team kept losing wickets continuously and were reduced to 116 runs in 33.1 overs.

Nurul Hasan played the highest innings of 31 runs for Bangladesh. Apart from this, all the batsmen of Bangladesh were flops. 7 batsmen of the team could not even touch double figures. Brad Evans and captain Richard Ngarawa had the biggest contribution in ensuring victory for Zimbabwe. Both of them took maximum 3-3 wickets. Apart from this, Blessing Muzarabani and Newman Nyamahuri took 2 wickets each.
