Apple users’ tension is over, Debit-Credit Card payment returned on App Store and iCloud after 5 years

Apple Payment In India: A big update has arrived for Apple users in India. Let us tell you that after about 5 years, Apple has restarted the option of payment through debit and credit cards for its services like App Store and iCloud. For your information, know that earlier, users had to use only UPI, Net Banking or Apple ID Balance to buy apps, take subscriptions or pay for iCloud storage. But for now, the company has made this facility available to limited users only and in the coming time, it will be extended to all the customers.

Why did card payment option return after 5 years?

As seen earlier, Apple had stopped the facility of debit and credit card payments in India in the year 2021. The reason behind which was the card tokenization framework of the Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI. Under the new rules, no merchant was allowed to store the actual card information of customers on its server. But now Apple has updated its payment system as per RBI rules. After which now users will be given the option to pay by card again.

For which services will the new payment option be available?

It is seen that after the new update, Apple users will be able to pay for App Store, in-app purchases, Apple Music, iCloud+ and other digital services of the company through debit or credit card. For which earlier mainly UPI, internet banking and prepaid Apple ID balance had to be used. This change will especially benefit those users who prefer to use the card for auto-renewing subscriptions.

Still waiting on Apple Pay

It is seen that despite the withdrawal of card payments, no official announcement has been made yet regarding Apple Pay. In which the company has not shared the launch timeline of its digital payment service in India. Experts believe that after following the tokenization rules of RBI, this initiative of Apple can make the payment experience easier and more convenient for Indian users than before. In such a situation, if this feature is released for all users in the coming months, then using the Apple ecosystem will become even easier.
