I shop at Sainsbury’s but there’s 1 thing I always buy from Tesco
Living within a 10-minute walk from both a Sainsbury’s and a Co-op, it’s not exactly a surprise that I’d rarely bother going to other supermarkets. There’s not much between the two of these that I can’t find quite easily; however, there is one item I’ll sometimes trek to Tesco for.
While it might mean a bit longer walk, when I’m really in the mood for some macaroni cheese but don’t fancy making it myself, I’ll always opt for Tesco’s ready-made version. This tasty dish takes just four minutes in the microwave, so I can sit down and enjoy my meal just moments after walking in the door. Like most ready meals, it’s not the healthiest optionso it shouldn’t be eaten too often.
While I have tried the macaroni cheese from both Sainsbury’s and Co-op, the former was just too tasteless, and the latter tasted rather odd.
The Teso ready meal, however, is quite tasty. And although it’s not quite as good as a homemade mac and cheese, it’s certainly less time-consuming.
At £3.75, it’s not the cheapest, but it’s also not the most expensive ready meal on the market. And if you have a clubcard, it’s often included in deals, so you can pick up a few items without spending too much.
Sainsbury’s basic macaroni cheese ready meal also comes in at £3.75, while Co-op’s is a little more expensive at £4. Although again, both are often included in deals for their members.
The mac and cheese can be a full meal, or you could have it as a side along with something else, depending on your appetite and level of hunger – although I usually just have it on its own.
While I wouldn’t recommend it for every meal, I do enjoy it once every couple of months, and will continue to take the trek to Tesco when the craving comes over me.
