Thailand Travel Rules Changed: New strict rules of Thailand come into force for Indian tourists, know these 4 big changes including TDAC before traveling
The Government of Thailand has made major changes in its travel and visa rules for Indian tourists. The purpose of these strict rules is not to stop tourism, but to curb serious problems like fake travelers, overstays and online scams in the name of jobs. Along with this, new technology has also been included to make the immigration process more secure, transparent and digital. If you are also planning to visit Thailand in the coming days, then it is very important to understand these new rules carefully. Why did the Thai government have to take these strict steps? Thailand has been the most favorite holiday destination for tourists from all over the world as well as Indians. However, security agencies were facing many challenges for some time. Many people went to Thailand on tourist visas and started working illegally, while many travelers were living secretly there even after the expiry of their visas. In view of the increasing cases of traveling with the help of fake documents, the government has now decided to make the entire system digital and foolproof, so that genuine tourists do not face any problem. Now these 4 conditions will be mandatory for traveling to Thailand. 6 months passport validity: Now the passport of every Indian traveler going to Thailand must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel. If the validity is found to be less than this, then it can be returned from the airport itself. Confirmed return ticket and hotel booking: Passengers will now have to produce their confirmed return air ticket and confirmed hotel booking for their stay at the immigration counter. This should make your entire travel plan clear. Financial proof of 20,000 Thai Baht (THB): Travelers must prove to be financially capable to handle their expenses in Thailand. Under this, approximately 20,000 Thai Baht (or its foreign currency equivalent) per person may have to be shown in the form of cash or bank balance. Individual Travel Documents: Even if you are traveling with a group or family, each member should have separate and completely prepared documents related to passport, hotel booking and visa. What is the new TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) system? The Thai government has now mandated a new online system called TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card), completely discontinuing the old paper immigration forms. This is being considered the most important part of this change. Every passenger will have to visit this official online portal and fill a digital form before their flight. In this digital form, passengers will have to enter basic information like their passport details, flight number, full address of stay in Thailand and main purpose of travel. The main objective of implementing this system is to eliminate long lines during immigration at the airport and to track the data of passengers in a secure manner. What action will be taken if the rules are not followed or a mistake is made? If a passenger does not fill out their TDAC form correctly before boarding a flight or is unable to produce the required documents when asked for at the immigration counter, they may be flatly refused entry at a Thailand airport. In serious cases, the traveler may also be deported (sent back to the country), which may pose a major problem in getting a visa to Thailand in the future. If all your documents are valid and you are just visiting, there is no need to panic—just do your digital preparation in time.
