Big action against cyber thugs in Mathura, 100 detained

Mathura Police, while running a special campaign against cyber fraud, raided 28 locations in four police station areas. During the action, more than 100 suspects were detained and investigation of their documents and electronic devices was started.

Mathura: To tighten the noose on cyber crime, Mathura Police launched a large-scale joint operation in the early hours of Tuesday. More than 100 people were detained for verification by simultaneously raiding 28 suspicious locations in four police station areas. The police are now investigating the activities and records of all the suspects.

Special campaign launched simultaneously in four police station areas

Mathura Police launched a massive campaign on Tuesday morning with the aim of curbing cyber fraud cases. On the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar, simultaneous raids were conducted at 28 suspicious locations in Kosikalan, Shergarh, Barsana and Govardhan police station areas. During the operation, the police cordoned off all the major roads as per the pre-planned strategy, so that no suspect could escape from the spot. Police say that the networks related to cyber crime are being continuously monitored and such campaigns will continue in future also.

300 policemen and PAC remained deployed

In this special operation, police from 16 police stations, two company PACs and about 300 policemen were deployed under the leadership of eight area officers. Heavy police force reached the villages before dawn and different teams simultaneously started action on suspected targets. This sudden action of the police created panic in the entire area and created an atmosphere of chaos in the villages. Additional police force was also present at the spot to maintain security.

Interrogation of more than 100 suspects continues

During the raid, the police detained more than 100 suspects and started their verification. According to officials, identity documents, mobile phones, bank accounts and other electronic devices of all the people are being checked. The purpose of the investigation is to find out whether they are related to cases of cyber fraud or online fraud. Police say that strict legal action will be taken as per rules against those whose involvement comes to light.

Further action will be taken after investigation

SP Rural IPS Suresh Chand Rawat said that this action is part of the special campaign being run against cyber thugs. At present, all the detained suspects are being interrogated and their criminal records are also being verified. Besides, mobile data, banking transactions and other digital evidence are also being examined. After the completion of the investigation, further action will be taken by registering a case against those whose role is found to be suspicious.

Continuous strictness on cyber crime

Police officials say that in view of the continuous increase in cyber fraud cases, the number of such campaigns is being increased. People have also been appealed to immediately report any suspicious online activity, fake calls, links or banking fraud to the police and cyber helpline. The administration believes that along with police action, cyber crime can be effectively controlled by increasing awareness among the people.
