Sanju Samson did not bat at all during the tour of Ireland and England. Only 6 runs came in his account in three matches. After this, he was dropped from the playing-11 of the second T20 match against England. Then his name was not in the team even for the Zimbabwe tour. However, BCCI has said that he has been rested and not dropped from the team. For this reason, various kinds of talks are being held regarding his future.

Young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi got the benefit of Sanju’s poor form. He got a chance and caught everyone’s attention with his batting. Whereas Prabhsimran Singh has been given a chance in the team for the series against Zimbabwe. He is also in great form. He had performed strongly in IPL 2026 and has played for India in the 2023 Asian Games. In such a situation, the competition for the place of wicketkeeper-batsman has become more tough.

Now BCCI will decide

Although the Indian team for the Asian Games has already been announced, but according to the rules, changes can be made before the start of the tournament. The Times of India report claims that BCCI may consider this option. If this happens then problems may increase for Sanju Samson. Now it remains to be seen whether the selectors repose confidence in him or give a chance to a new player.
