Inverter Tips- Adopt these methods to keep inverters safe during monsoon.
Friends, monsoon season provides us relief from the scorching heat, but many types of problems arise in this season, like frequent power cuts, which can affect the performance of your inverter and battery. If proper care is not taken, excess moisture can cause rust, short circuit, let us know how you can prevent the inverter from getting damaged-
Keep the inverter in a dry and ventilated place
Keep the inverter and battery in a dry place away from rain water, dampness and moisture.
Place the battery on a raised platform instead of directly on the ground.
Do not keep the inverter close to the wall. Leave some space around it for proper air flow, so that it does not get too hot.
Check the water level in the battery regularly
Check the battery’s electrolyte level every 45 to 60 days.
If the water level is low, add only distilled water.
Never use tap water or RO water, as the minerals present in them can damage the battery.
Do not overfill the battery with water, as excess water may leak acid and reduce battery life.
Clean the battery terminals thoroughly
Humidity during monsoon can cause rust or a white-green layer to form on the battery terminals.
If any such layer is seen, have the terminals cleaned by a knowledgeable technician as soon as possible.
Regularly wipe the inverter with a clean and dry cloth to remove dust and moisture.
Do not use a wet cloth, as this may increase moisture and create electrical hazards.
Do not overload the inverter
Due to frequent power cuts, people often connect many appliances to the inverter.
Avoid running high-power devices, such as:
air conditioner
Heater
geyser
microwave oven
Excessive load causes the battery to discharge quickly, reduces backup time and also reduces its overall lifespan.
Why is care important in monsoon
Proper care during rainy season protects your inverter from moisture damage, improves battery performance, increases backup time and also increases the overall lifespan of the system.
