Controversy in Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sutlej’

Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sutlej’ embroiled in controversies: Recently, Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sutlej’ has created a lot of stir in the entertainment world. The film faced controversies soon after its release, due to which the Central Government has formed a high-level committee on it. The film was released on ZEE5 on July 4, but was removed from the platform after a few days.

Center formed high level committee

According to sources, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has constituted an Interdepartmental Committee (IDC), which will thoroughly review the content of the film. This committee will submit its report and recommendations to the Centre. The film was originally titled ‘Punjab 95’ and is based on the life story of Punjab human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

The film was removed from ZEE5

Diljit Dosanjh is seen in the role of Khalra in this film. The story is set in 1990s Punjab, raising issues of extrajudicial killings and missing persons. The government says that some parts of the film could be misused by ‘anti-India’ forces, hence the decision was taken to remove it.

Possibility of film’s comeback
