India Crash to Record 125-Run Defeat Against England in 3rd T20I
England produced a dominant all-round performance to thrash India by 125 runs in the third T20 International at Trent Bridge, handing the visitors their biggest defeat by runs in men’s T20I history. India were bowled out for just 76 while chasing 202, as England took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
After being asked to bat, England recovered from an early wobble to post 201/7. Phil Salt led the charge with a fluent 70 off 44 balls, while Sam Curran provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 41, helping the hosts cross the 200-run mark.
India’s reply unraveled almost immediately. The top order collapsed under relentless pace bowling from Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue, leaving the visitors reeling in the powerplay. Tongue finished with career-best figures of 4/28, while Archer claimed 3/29 and was named Player of the Match.
The total of 76 all out became India’s heaviest defeat by runs in T20 International cricket, surpassing their previous record 80-run loss to New Zealand in 2019. Only two Indian batters managed to reach double figures as England’s bowlers completed a comprehensive demolition.
Following the defeat, India captain Shreyas Iyer described his team’s display as “atrocious” and admitted they failed to adapt to the conditions. England, meanwhile, strengthened their grip on the series with two matches remaining, boosting their confidence ahead of the fourth T20I.
