‘UGC-NET paper sold for ₹2.25 lakh’, government shaken by Rahul Gandhi’s revelations
The fire of NEET controversy had not yet cooled down that now a new claim of Rahul Gandhi regarding the UGC-NET exam has created panic in the entire country. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has made a serious allegation on social media, saying that the Sociology question paper of UGC-NET was sold at a huge price of ₹ 2.25 lakh even before the examination. In his post, Rahul Gandhi has cited the revelations of an advocate from Haryana.
What is the whole matter?
Rahul Gandhi has alleged that just before the examination, a PDF file of about 100 pages was circulated on social media and other mediums. They claim that this PDF was of the same question paper, which should have been safe only with the National Testing Agency (NTA). The surprising thing is that about 90 questions of this PDF completely match the real Sociology paper in the exam.
It is being told that this leaked paper was sold for ₹2.25 lakh by an organized network active in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. Not only this, that network has also claimed to provide question papers of upcoming exams like CSIR-NET, HTET and ADA.
Why are advocates underground?
At the center of this entire matter is an advocate from Haryana, who issued an audio message on July 6 saying that his life is in danger. The advocate says that he is in fear of his life from the paper leak mafia, due to which he has currently gone underground. However, till now no formal complaint has been lodged on his behalf with NTA or the police in this matter. Earlier, student leaders in Rohtak had also raised the demand for forensic investigation, claiming that the papers of the examinations held on June 29 and 30 were leaked.
Rahul Gandhi’s sharp attack on the government
Targeting the Modi government, Rahul Gandhi said that after NEET, now the scams in NET have once again proved that the government is sleeping. He said that the years of hard work of lakhs of students do not matter to the government. Rahul said in a harsh tone that it is useless to expect accountability from the Prime Minister and the Education Minister, hence now the students of the country will have to bring ‘revolution’ in this education system only by raising their voice.
