Blake Lively and Harrison Ford’s romantic fantasy The Age of Adaline is set to leave Netflix next month. According to What’s on Netflixthe film will be removed from the streaming platform on August 1, 2026.
Directed by Lee Toland Krieger from a screenplay by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz, The Age of Adaline was released in U.S. theaters on April 24, 2015. The film centers on Adaline Bowman. She is a woman who has remained the same age for decades after a mysterious accident changed her life forever. Unable to reveal the truth behind her unusual condition, she spends years avoiding emotional attachments, which leaves her isolated.
However, her carefully guarded routine is disrupted when she falls for philanthropist Ellis Jones. As their relationship grows stronger, Adaline finds it increasingly difficult to protect the truth about her past, risking both her secret and her future happiness.
The romantic fantasy stars Lively as Adaline Marie Bowman alongside Huisman as Ellis Jones. Others include Harrison Ford as William Jones, Lynda Boyd as Reagan, Ellen Burstyn as Flemming Prescott, and Kathy Baker as Kathy Jones.
Although the film received mixed reviews from critics, audience response was somewhat stronger. On Rotten Tomatoes, The Age of Adaline has a 54% critics’ score based on 169 reviews. Meanwhile, its audience rating stands at 67%. James Croot of The Post NZ reported, “Despite a cold and off-putting third-person narration, Adaline is a film that eventually will melt the most of cynical of cinemagoers’ hearts.”
