After the 125-run defeat, captain Shreyas Iyer got angry at the entire team, said – such performance is absolutely unacceptable…

IND vs ENG t20 series: After the crushing 125-run defeat against England in the third T20, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer openly expressed his displeasure over the team’s performance. He said that the kind of play shown by the team was not according to the standard of international cricket and cannot be accepted. Chasing the target of 202 runs, the Indian team was reduced to just 76 runs. This also became India’s biggest defeat in terms of runs in T20 Internationals. Under the captaincy of Iyer, the team has not been able to win even a single T20 match so far.

After the match, Iyer said that first of all the team will have to accept the responsibility of this defeat. He believes that now instead of getting entangled in old results, it is important to enter the next match with new thinking and better preparation. The Indian captain also admitted that the conditions at Trent Bridge were not suitable for scoring more than 200 runs. According to him, the team put pressure on itself by losing four wickets in the powerplay and from there the match went out of hand.

Iyer said that plans are made before any match, but it is most important to adapt to the conditions on the field. He admitted that the Indian batsmen did not look comfortable on the hard length of the England bowlers and that is why the team could not make a big partnership. He expressed confidence that the team will bounce back after learning a lesson from this defeat. According to Iyer, now every player will have to understand his role and enter the field with the intention of making a better contribution in the next match.
With this victory, England has taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. Now the fourth match between the two teams will be played in Bristol on Thursday, where India will be eyeing a comeback in the series.
