Sanctions are rising, America will give F-35 warplanes to Turkey! New ‘friendship’ in which ‘thorn’ India is concerned?

The beginning of a new relationship. America-Türkiye is close again. On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced from the meeting of NATO, the military alliance led by Washington, in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, that Washington will lift the sanctions imposed on Turkey. In addition, Trump also announced plans to provide F-35 fighter jets to Ankara. In 2019, Washington became embroiled in a dispute with Turkey over the purchase of Russian S-400 air defense system. But this time there was an indication that a new turn is coming in the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

According to experts, India may feel uncomfortable due to this new ‘friendship’ of the two countries. Because, the arrival of these high-powered warplanes in the hands of Turkey and on the other hand the close relationship between Ankara and Islamabad can further complicate the security equation of India. The main reason for New Delhi’s concern is that Türkiye has become one of Pakistan’s closest defense partners in recent years. Pakistan attacked India with Turkish drones during Operation Sindur. Therefore, in such a situation, if advanced technology comes to Turkey, then it can be reached to Pakistan, some analysts fear.

Meanwhile, in the field of diplomacy, India is also making its own decisions by observing all sides. New Delhi has significantly strengthened defense and strategic ties with Greece in recent years. Because Turkey has a long-standing dispute with Athens. According to analysts, the closeness between the two countries has increased keeping this issue in mind. It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Greece recently. The two countries discussed various issues including defence, maritime security. Türkiye has stood by Pakistan many times over Jammu and Kashmir. They have also supported Islamabad on the international stage. Therefore, New Delhi fears that if Ankara’s military power increases, it may also benefit Pakistan in the future.
