Following this recent reform, online services of EPFO, which were suspended, have been resumed. According to Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, under the new system, PF claims will now be automatically checked before reaching officials at EPFO ​​offices. Claims will be checked before reaching the office

From now on, all you submit PF Claims will go through an automated pre-verification process (verification process) before reaching the desks of EPFO ​​officials. This means, the system will initially check your application automatically.

Errors will be revealed immediately

If there are any errors, incomplete information or other deficiencies in your claim form, the new system will immediately point them out. Members will then be informed in advance so that they can correct those errors.

Online guidance for correcting errors

The new portal will not only reveal your mistakes, but also guide you on how to correct them. The biggest benefit of this step will be that it will increase the chances of your claim being accepted in the first attempt, thereby eliminating the hassle of repeated application rejections.

You can see the amount before applying

This is a great feature. Now, PF members can see the maximum amount they are eligible to withdraw under various PF categories like sickness, marriage or house building, before submitting their claim. This will help them plan properly.

Complete membership information available at one place

Members will have access to a ‘Unified Member Dashboard’ on the new portal. Through this single digital interface, you will be able to view your membership details, PF balance, claim status, record of pensionable service and benefits all at once.

Interest credited to the account till 15th July

An interest rate of 8.25% per annum has been automatically processed for the financial year 2025-26. Over ₹1.44 lakh crore interest amount in accounts of 34 crore members will be verified expeditiously. By July 15, it will appear in all members’ passbooks.

Automatic settlement limit increased to 5 lakhs

EPFO has expanded the scope of automatic settlement. Advance claims up to ₹5 lakh for accounts with full KYC linkage will be processed instantly through automatic settlement. Earlier this limit was only ₹1 lakh.

PF transfer will be done automatically on job change

If your PF account is linked with your UAN and Aadhaar, your old PF balance will be automatically transferred to the new account on joining a new job. Employees need not submit a separate online or offline transfer request.

EPFO questions can be answered online

If EPFO ​​requires additional information or documents regarding the claim, members can respond directly online through the portal. With this facility, there is no need to visit the EPFO ​​office for minor enquiries.

The money will be credited to the bank account on the day of settlement itself

The new system includes a centralized payment architecture. Using electronic payment channels, the claim amount will be directly deposited into the member’s bank account at a safe and fast rate on the same day the claim is settled.

Independence for pensioners

EPS pensioners can now visit any PF office in the country to avail their services or submit a life certificate. Additionally, pension claims can be processed through any regional office. Pension can be deposited in any bank account in the country.

Additional supervision for the initial two weeks

After the complete migration of the database to the new system, a ‘stabilization period’ is currently underway. Therefore, all claims and service requests will undergo additional scrutiny and verification for the next two weeks.

 

Processing is possible from anywhere in the country

Earlier, your PF-related work was handled at the regional office where your company is registered. However, now, with the centralized system, any authorized EPFO ​​officer can process your service request from anywhere in the country. This will speed up the process significantly.
