A massive fire broke out in a shoe factory in Xinjiang, China… 28 people burnt alive, horrifying video of the accident surfaced
Jinjiang Shoe Factory Fire Accident: A massive fire broke out on Thursday in a shoe factory located in Jinjiang city of Fujian province in south-eastern China. At least 28 people died in this tragic accident, while many others were injured. China’s government news agency Xinhua has given this information. After the fire, there was chaos in the factory and there was a race among the employees to save their lives.
In the video released by Xinhua, high flames were seen rising from the factory building and black smoke spreading into the sky. In the video, some employees were seen trapped on the roof of the factory, and rescue teams were making continuous efforts to save them. Some media reports claimed that a person even jumped from a height to escape the smoke and fire.

people trapped on the roof of the building
The fire broke out in the Huiteng Footwear Factory at around 12 noon local time. Many employees were able to get out safely as soon as the fire broke out, but some people were trapped inside the building and on the upper floors. According to eyewitnesses, many employees ran towards the roof to save their lives.

As soon as information about the incident was received, fire brigade and rescue teams reached the spot. The local administration deployed 183 rescue workers and 35 fire and emergency vehicles for relief work. After several hours of hard work, the fire was brought under control to a great extent, although smoke continued to rise in the factory premises till late evening.
What came to light in the initial investigation?
According to officials, the fire started from the basement of the factory. The chemicals, raw materials and adhesives used in making shoes are highly flammable. Due to this, the fire quickly spread throughout the building. The rescue team said that there was difficulty in the relief work due to the strong smell of chemicals inside the factory.

Jinjiang is one of the largest footwear manufacturing centers in China. It is also called the shoe capital of China. According to official figures, thousands of companies here would have produced more than 1.2 billion pairs of shoes in 2024, which is about 20 percent of the world’s total shoe production. Expressing grief over the accident, President Xi Jinping has given instructions for better treatment of the injured and investigation into the matter.
