According to the report of international news agency Reuters, she is planning strategies with her associates while in exile in India and is considering surrendering before the court after her return.
According to the report, the Bangladesh court has already sentenced Sheikh Hasina to death in a case. At the same time, his party Awami League was banned from contesting elections, due to which it could not take part in the parliamentary elections held this year.
Hinted for the first time on plans to return from India
During an interview Sheikh Hasina said that she and many senior leaders of her party want to voluntarily return to Bangladesh to face the court. She said that after her return she may be arrested or her life may be in danger, but despite this she wants to return to her country.
He said that continuous action is being taken against the leaders and workers of his party and even if he has to see the end of his life, it should be in his motherland.
Political challenge may increase before the government
Reuters report said that if Sheikh Hasina returns to Bangladesh in December, it could become a big political challenge for the current government. It is believed that a large number of his supporters are still present in the country and his return may intensify political activities.
Extradition efforts also mentioned
Sheikh Hasina is currently living in India. He claimed that the Bangladesh government is continuously demanding his extradition from India. However, he also indicated that the chances of India sending him back are extremely slim.
Preparation for mass surrender with Awami League leaders
Sheikh Hasina said that cases were registered against most of the leaders and workers of her party and many were living in hiding. In such a situation, she wants all the leaders to return together and appear before the court. However, he did not clarify when and in which court this would happen.
