Harmanpreet admitted that women players do not get many opportunities to play red-ball cricket, hence this format is definitely challenging. However, he said that the team has done several practice sessions in the last few days and the players appeared to be in good form. He said- We are not used to playing red-ball cricket, but when there is excitement about something, the players try to give their best.

Expressed desire to play more women’s tests

The Indian captain also expressed her opinion on the future of women’s Test cricket. She said that as a player she wants to play as many Test matches as possible, but it is for the ICC and the respective cricket boards to decide. Harmanpreet said that women’s cricket has progressed continuously in the last few years. India played a Test in March last year and now it has got another chance at Lord’s.
