BCCI’s big announcement: India A will tour Nepal in December, schedule of 3-match T20 series released

India A vs Nepal T20 Series: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) have announced the upcoming T20 series between India and Nepal. The Indian team will tour Nepal in December this year, where a three-match T20 series will be played between India A and Nepal.

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) issued an official statement on Friday saying that the India A team will reach Nepal in December. This bilateral series between the two teams will be played from December 9 to December 13.

India A vs Nepal T20 series schedule

  • 9 December: First T20 match
  • 11 December: Second T20 match
  • 13 December: Third T20 match

All three matches of the series will be hosted at the Tribhuvan University (TU) International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal.

Decision taken after the meeting of BCCI and CAN

The decision regarding this series was taken after a meeting between Cricket Association of Nepal President Chatur Bahadur Chand, Secretary Paras Khadka and BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia. Both the cricket boards agreed to this bilateral series to promote mutual cooperation.

Big opportunity for Nepal cricket

This series is considered very important for Nepal cricket team. The India A team is expected to include many big IPL stars and players who have been part of the Indian senior team, which will provide high level experience to the young players of Nepal.

In the last few years, Nepal cricket has made its mark at the international level. Nepal has qualified for two consecutive T20 World Cups. The team did not win in the 2024 T20 World Cup, but in the 2026 T20 World Cup, Nepal improved its performance and registered a spectacular victory against Scotland. The team also gave a tough challenge to England and lost the match by only 4 runs.
