Heavy next 24 hours in UP! There will be torrential rain in these districts, alert issued

Monsoon has now arrived with full force in Uttar Pradesh. It has been raining continuously in many parts of the state for the last few days, but now the danger has increased further. Meteorological Centre, Lucknow has issued ‘Orange Alert’ of heavy to very heavy rainfall in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh for July 11.

According to weather experts, the low pressure area and active monsoon trough formed in the central part of the state is now ready to wreak havoc. Due to this, there is every possibility of torrential rains along with thunderstorms in almost all parts of Eastern UP and some areas of Western UP. The good news is that this rain will bring down the temperature by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, which will provide great relief to the people struggling with the humid heat.

There will be heavy to very heavy rain in these districts According to the Meteorological Department, the greatest danger is in those districts where there is red or orange alert of rain. This includes Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Basti, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti and Bahraich. Here the administration has been instructed to remain completely alert.

Moderate to heavy rain expected here Apart from this, Lucknow, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Kheri.

Danger of lightning, be careful! Along with the rain, an alert has been issued for strong winds and lightning in more than 50 districts of UP. There is a high possibility of lightning along with thunder especially in areas like Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Lucknow and Kanpur. The department has appealed to the people to stay in permanent homes and stay away from open fields and trees during bad weather.

Important guidelines for general public and farmers The Meteorological Department has warned that due to heavy rains, waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas, hence people should not go near rivers and drains. Take special care while driving as visibility may be reduced. It has been advised for the farmers to keep the embankments strong while planting paddy. Make arrangements for drainage in the fields of sugarcane, maize and pigeon pea so that the crops are protected from rotting.
