England has achieved an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. Now the fifth and last match between the two teams will be played on July 11 in Southampton. If Harry Brook’s team wins this match also, then it will wipe out India in the series. With this victory, the English team will leave India behind and come on top in the ICC T20 rankings.

What did Harry Brook say?

After the fourth T20 match played at the County Ground in Bristol, England captain Harry Brook said that the team has been told that if it wins the last match then it can become the number 1 T20 team in the world. He said that India is a strong team. However, he did not appear in his old style in this series. During this, Brook said that defeating India 4-0 would be a special achievement and becoming number 1 would be his biggest target.

India has occupied number 1 position for years

Let us tell you, India has been continuously on top in the ICC T20 team rankings since February 2022. During this period, Team India won many bilateral series. Not only this, India also won the ICC T20 World Cup title twice in a row. In the year 2024, India won the T20 World Cup title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. After this, in 2026, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the team became champion for the second consecutive time.
