Neither ministerial post, nor influence, nor ticket, why did Narottam Mishra get marginalized in BJP?
The wait for Narottam Mishra, the famous face of Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party, to come to power is increasing. He did not get a ticket in the by-election to be held in Datia Assembly, after which his supporters resorted to violence. The supporters blocked National Highway-44 for about 12 hours on Saturday and started pelting stones at the police.
Officials say that many policemen including the Superintendent of Police have been injured in the attack by supporters of Narottam Mishra. More than 3,000 protesters blocked National Highway-44. When the police tried to clear the road, the protesters started pelting stones. The situation became so bad that tear gas shells were fired to disperse the crowd. Narottam Mishra’s supporters have also been arrested for inciting violence.
What did Narottam Mishra say after the controversy?
Narottam Mishra:-
This is the party’s decision. I appeal to all party workers not to do such things. Do not create nuisance by pouring petrol or kerosene, do not block the road. Views are properly expressed within the party forum. This should not happen.

Why are Narottam Mishra’s supporters angry?
Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Ashutosh Tiwari for Datia Assembly by-election. When Bharatiya Janata Party announced this on Friday, Narottam Mishra’s supporters were unhappy with this.

The protesters blocked the National Highway for about 11-12 hours. Despite the administration’s explanation, the protesters did not agree. They pelted stones at the police after which tear gas shells were fired to control the crowd. Datia Superintendent of Police, other senior officers and policemen have been injured in stone pelting. The police did not lathi charge the protesters.
Swapnil Wankhede said, ‘The protesters also damaged police and other vehicles but later the situation was brought under control by removing the jam from the highway.

What did the police say?
Mayur Khandelwal, Superintendent of Police:
More than 3,000 protesters tried to disrupt peace and shut down markets in Datia city and blocked the road for about 12 hours. More than 6 policemen have been injured in stone pelting. We tried to convince the protesters but when they did not agree and started pelting stones, the police fired tear gas shells to control the situation.
Will Narottam Mishra increase BJP’s problems?
Angered by Narottam Mishra not getting the ticket, some of his supporters, presidents and councilors of district units are also resigning from the party. Now Narottam Mishra can create trouble for BJP on the ground.
Narottam Mishra had even bought nomination papers
According to sources, Narottam Mishra had even bought the nomination papers. He was busy preparing for the by-elections but suddenly his ticket was cut. Ashutosh Tiwari has got the ticket in his place.

Who is Ashutosh Tiwari, who got the ticket?
Ashutosh Tiwari has been active in the organization. Narottam Mishra has got a big shock by becoming his candidate. Narottam Mishra was looking forward to returning to the cabinet, where he lost his seat and his share in power. Ashutosh Tiwari is the cell in-charge in BJP. He has been the Organization Minister of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. As the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Housing Board, he has also got the status of Cabinet Minister once. He had sought ticket from Sevdha seat in the year 2023 but then BJP had fielded Pradeep Aggarwal.

How did Narottam Mishra reach the margins?
Narottam Mishra had also lost this seat in the 2023 assembly elections. Congress leader Rajendra Bharti gave a crushing defeat to the then Home Minister Narottam Mishra. Narottam Mishra, lost by more than 7,500 votes. Narottam Mishra’s stature was so much during the tenure of Shivraj Singh Chouhan that he even got the Home Ministry. He has been MLA 6 times. After losing to Rajendra Bharti, the party did not give him any honour. He used to speak a lot on the issue of organization and Hindutva, while being the Home Minister, he tried to create an image of bulldozer action but he was criticized the most. People said that he was copying Yogi Adityanath.
From films to politics, he was in the news every day for his controversial statements. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised him to speak thoughtfully. The displeasure of the top leadership weighed heavily on him. He had also raised questions about Deepika’s ‘orange bikini’ in the film ‘Pathan’.
As soon as the by-election was announced, he became active in his area, he held several rounds of meetings to win the election but his card was cut short. Supporters of Narottam Mishra are saying that only after the year 2023, their leader is being continuously marginalized. Sources reveal that Narottam Mishra was part of Team Shivraj. Mohan Yadav is forming his new team, in which there is now a place for Narottam Mishra.
What has BJP said on the ticket?
On Narottam Mishra not getting the ticket, BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said, ‘See, there is no ticket in the Bharatiya Janata Party, no one’s ticket is denied. BJP selects its candidates as per its own procedure. The same process was adopted in Bankipur and the same process was adopted in Datia also.

Why are elections being held in Datia?
Rajendra Bharti has been sentenced in a fraud case. Due to being sentenced to 2 years imprisonment, his assembly membership automatically ended. He became disqualified under Section 8 of the Representation of the People Act 1951. Now voting will be held on July 30 while counting of votes will be done on August 3.
When Narottam Mishra suddenly came into discussion
Remember the encounter of Bikaru’s Vikas Dubey? On July 9, 2020, Vikas Dubey was arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police from Ujjain Mahakal Temple. Right after the arrest, then Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra appeared smiling on TV. He had taken credit for the arrest of Vikas Dubey. They had said that we have arrested him, he is in our custody. Do not bring the temple in between, he has been arrested in Ujjain. He was killed the very next day on July 10. He was accused of killing eight policemen including the CO in Bikaru village of Kanpur.
