Major accident near Phu Quoc island of Vietnam, boat full of Indian tourists capsized in the sea

A tourist boat carrying Indian citizens capsized in the sea near Vietnam’s famous tourist destination Phu Quoc island. After the accident, there was chaos in the area and immediately a massive relief and rescue operation was started. As soon as information about the incident was received, the Indian Embassy in Vietnam also became active and is maintaining constant contact with the local administration. At present, the priority of the officials is to safely locate all the passengers and know the full reason for the accident.
The Indian Embassy in Vietnam confirmed the incident and said that it is continuously monitoring the entire matter. The embassy said that every necessary step is being taken in collaboration with the local administration and continuous information is being taken on the progress of the rescue work. Control room set up to help family members
After the accident, the Indian Consulate has set up a special control room in Ho Chi Minh City to assist Indian citizens and their families. Apart from this, a separate help desk has also been set up in Hanoi so that the affected families can easily get information. The Embassy has said that in case of any kind of assistance, information or emergency, families can contact these helpline numbers. Teams of officials are continuously receiving calls and trying to provide all possible assistance.
Rescue operation started immediately after the accident
As soon as information about the boat capsizing was received, the local administration started the rescue operation without any delay. The rescue teams present at sea immediately headed towards the spot and started searching for the passengers. Along with the local administration, many tourist boats present nearby also came forward to help. The drivers and staff of these boats also joined the rescue operation, so that the relief work could gain momentum.
A boat operator involved in the rescue operation told local media that his boat had reached the spot within about five minutes of receiving information about the incident. However, after reaching there the situation appeared quite serious. He told that the boat had completely overturned and many passengers were trapped inside it. In such circumstances, the rescue operation was not easy, because reaching the passengers safely was proving challenging.
Difficulty in evacuating many passengers
According to local media reports, relief teams pulled out some people after a lot of efforts. The boat operator said that among the people who were taken out, only a few were conscious. The operation to search for the remaining passengers and rescue them safely is continuing. Officials say that due to the ongoing operation in the sea, the situation is being constantly monitored and as new information is received, it will be made public.
Bad sea weather becomes a challenge
According to the report, the sea weather near An Thoi area was not normal at the time of the accident. Although it was not raining at that time, there were strong waves and bad conditions in the sea.
