Routine delivery turns heartwarming experience: Pune customer tips ₹1,000 to Swiggy’s female delivery partner

A female delivery partner of Swiggy in Pune got a big pleasant shock when a customer tipped her ₹1,000 to encourage her work.

Tina Chaudhary, who has been working as a delivery partner with Swiggy for the past year, was delivering in the city as usual. During a monsoon delivery, a customer was impressed by the timely delivery of the order despite the heavy rain and her three-year-old daughter with her. Appreciating Tina’s tenacity and dedication despite challenging circumstances, the customer encouraged her on her next journey by giving her a generous tip of ₹1,000.

Tina was inspired to work at Swiggy by her husband. Her husband has been working as a delivery partner at Swiggy for over five years.

Recounting her experience with Swiggy, Tina said, “Earlier I was working elsewhere. But after pregnancy I had to quit. A regular job with a small baby was not possible, so I started working at Swiggy. Here I don’t have to answer to anyone and I can take my daughter with me if needed. So I can spend time with her while working.”

Tina says many clients call her journey inspiring after seeing her with her daughter. Despite being one of the few female delivery partners in Pune, Tina considers herself competent and confident.

She said, “If ever I feel any problem, I do not hesitate to raise it openly. Till date I have always received full cooperation and respect from restaurant partners, Swiggy’s team and fellow delivery partners.”

For Tina, working as a delivery partner has been a life-changing experience. She concludes, “This work is hard work, but hard work pays off.”
