Easy ways to avoid frogs in rain
Ways to avoid frogs in rainy season
New Delhi: During rains, frogs often enter houses due to water accumulation. These creatures can be seen in the courtyard, bathroom and kitchen. Sometimes, they enter the house under doors or through open drains, increasing the risk of dirt and infection. If you don’t want to use expensive chemical medicines, don’t worry. Frogs can also be kept away with cheap remedies available at home like bleaching powder, salt and coffee.
put mesh on doors and drains
Frogs often enter the house from places where there is little open space. They easily enter through the gaps under doors or through open drains in the kitchen and bathroom. To avoid this, install a rubber strip or fine mesh at the bottom of the door. Also, keep all the drains in the kitchen and bathroom covered with mesh lids, so that frogs cannot enter the house.
spray bleaching powder
Frogs are more likely to come to moist places, such as bathroom corners, around water tanks or near pots. Bleaching powder can be used to keep them away. Prepare a solution by mixing a little bleaching powder in a mug of water and fill it in a spray bottle and sprinkle it on the places where frogs are often seen. The strong smell of bleaching powder keeps frogs away from those places.
Sprinkle salt on the path of frogs
If small frogs are coming inside the house even though the doors and windows are closed, then salt can help you. Sprinkle some plain white salt in places where frogs are likely to enter the house, such as door frames, corners or other pathways. Due to salt, frogs avoid coming to those places, which reduces the chances of them entering inside the house.
use coffee powder
If frogs appear more around the house or in the garden, coffee powder can also be an easy home remedy. Frogs do not like the strong smell of coffee, so they try to stay away from such places. For this, sprinkle a little coffee powder at the places where frogs come or you can also use it by mixing coffee in water and making a spray. Because of its strong smell, frogs come less to that place.
maintain cleanliness around the house
If there is stagnant water around the house during the rainy season, then frogs easily come there. Do not allow water to accumulate in the courtyard, under the pots or at other places. Also, keep cleaning the long grass and bushes growing around the house from time to time, because frogs often hide in these places. If you take care of cleanliness around the house during monsoon and do not allow water to accumulate, the chances of frogs coming into the house will reduce significantly.
Do not leave unnecessary lights on at night
Small insects are attracted towards bright lights at night. Since these insects are food for frogs, frogs also follow them around the house. If the light outside the house, balcony or courtyard is not needed, keep it off. This will reduce the number of insects and the chances of frogs hovering around the house will also reduce.
