Jos Buttler surpasses Virat Kohli to reach the 3rd spot on the list of top scorers in T20Is
Jos Buttler opened the innings for England in the fifth and final T20I against India on July 11. The veteran scored 131 runs off 64 balls, including 12 fours and 8 sixes. His runs came at a strike rate of 204.68, with the host nation reaching 257 for 3 in 20 overs.
During his magnificent display at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, he didn’t spare the Indian bowlers, hitting big shots to all parts of the ground. His second hundred in the shortest format of the game took his runs tally to 4212. He is now in the third spot on the list of batters with the most runs in T20Is.
The wicket-keeper batter went past Virat Kohli’s record. Former India captain amassed 4188 runs in 125 T20Is from 2010 to 2024. On the other hand, the English player has been a part of 160 T20Is.
Pakistan star batter Babar Azam is heading the list of players with the most runs in the slam-bang version of the game. He has accumulated 4596 runs in 145 matches, with the help of 3 centuries and 39 fifties. India batter Rohit Sharma is in second place, having accumulated 4231 runs in 159 T20Is from 2007 to 2024.
