Almost as soon as the boat overturned, other boats of nearby tourists rushed to the spot and joined the rescue operation. A boat driver claimed that he reached there 5 minutes after the accident and rescued some passengers from the overturned boat. Several passengers were trapped inside the overturned boat, making rescue operations difficult. Only a few managed to get out alive. According to local media, the sea was rough near An Thoi at the time of the accident. Due to which this incident may have happened. So far, 15 deaths have been reported in this incident. Besides, many are still missing.
