Big explosion in Tamil Nadu before August 15! 10 AIADMK MLAs will leave the party
These days, sounds of a major political earthquake are being heard in the politics of Tamil Nadu. There is news that the main opposition party AIADMK may face another big blow before the coming Independence Day. According to discussions, 10 more AIADMK MLAs are planning to bid goodbye to the party. These MLAs can resign from their assembly seats and join Chief Minister Joseph Vijay’s party ‘Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam’ (TVK). This special political operation has been informally named “Operation L” within Vijay’s party.
‘Khela’ will be played before Independence Day Sources claim that the talks between the rebel MLAs with the TVK leadership are in the final stages. A senior leader said that the target has been set to complete this entire change process before August 15 i.e. Independence Day. The motive behind this is to completely strengthen our political ground even before the announcement of by-elections. If this happens, it will be another big blow for AIADMK, as there have been continuous resignations from the party in the last few weeks. Recall that half of the 25 MLAs who violated the party whip during Vijay’s attempt to form the government in May have either already joined TVK or are preparing to go.
Is it decided to change sides of veteran leaders? If sources from TVK and AIADMK are to be believed, now it is the turn of AIADMK’s most influential regional power centres. Soon big leaders of the party like S.P. Velumani and C.Ve. MLAs associated with Shanmugam may change sides. There is even talk that by the end of July or the beginning of August, these two veteran leaders themselves may join Joseph Vijay’s party. Recently former ministers C. Vijayabhaskar, M.R. Vijaybhaskar and M.S.M. The opposition’s back has already been broken by the joining of big faces like Anandan in TVK.
Bumper offer and future guarantee MLAs are being given big assurances by TVK to change sides. The MLAs who will leave their seats have been promised a chance to contest the by-election again on TVK ticket and a ministerial berth in the cabinet if they win. At the same time, other leaders are tempted to make important posts in the party like District Secretary. Disgruntled AIADMK leaders say that this is not just taking advantage of the opportunity, but the anger accumulated over the years against the leadership of Edappadi Palaniswami. The discontent within the party after the removal of the District Secretaries has cast a cloud of uncertainty over the future of the MLAs, due to which they are now looking for a ‘safe career’ in TVK. However, the opposition is continuously calling it ‘horse trading’ and economic inducement, while TVK has vehemently rejected these allegations.
