Kejriwal said – Theft of Ram temple offerings broke the confidence of Modi government, AAP started nationwide signature campaign

New Delhi : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has launched a scathing attack on the Modi government at the Center regarding theft of Shri Ram temple offerings, land and construction scam. Launching a nationwide signature campaign from Rohini’s Japanese Park, he alleged that the government was trying to protect the real culprits instead of taking action against them. He appealed to the devotees to join the campaign and send letters to the Prime Minister.

Arvind Kejriwal said that the countrymen had expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not spare any culprit and would take strict action, but the events of the last few days have made it clear that efforts are being made to protect the alleged thieves and scamsters. He claimed that this has weakened people’s trust in the government.

Allegations of land scam and commission in construction

Kejriwal alleged that no impartial investigation is being conducted into the land scam related to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi and commission taking in the construction of the temple. He said that the SIT formed and the FIR lodged in the case of alleged theft of donation money are only cosmetic actions and its purpose is to suppress the case instead of reaching out to the real culprits.

Campaign started with Sunderkand lesson

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a nationwide signature campaign against corruption and alleged irregularities with the recitation of Sunderkand. During this, Arvind Kejriwal was also present along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal and senior leader Manish Sisodia. The party appealed to the people to join the campaign and demand strict action against the culprits.

Claim of irregularities in donation and construction

Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal alleged that large-scale financial irregularities took place during the construction of the temple. He claimed that 70 incidents of theft in the temple premises were recorded on CCTV within 40 days, while 8 months of CCTV recordings were allegedly deleted. He said that there have been serious irregularities in the offerings of devotees and also in the construction work.

‘The entire system was busy protecting the alleged culprits’

Kejriwal said that his party continued to demand a fair investigation, but no concrete action was taken. He alleged that as the names of people associated with power have come to light, the entire mechanism is being used to protect the alleged culprits. He said that the sentiments of Ram devotees have been hurt due to the inaction of the government.

Appeal to Ram devotees to join the campaign

Calling upon devotees to join the signature campaign, Kejriwal said that those who commit alleged theft in Lord Ram’s temple should be given the harshest punishment. He read out a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding a fair investigation and strict action against all the accused. He also said that instead of protecting the culprits, they should be punished as per the law.

In the letter sent to the Prime Minister, it was said that crores of devotees had donated for the construction of the temple with faith, but from time to time allegations of land scam, alleged commission taking in construction and theft of donation money came to light. The letter also alleged that influential people were being protected and only lower level employees were being taken to task. Also, SIT and FIR have been described as an attempt to mislead the public.

CEO appointment and hearing in Supreme Court

Meanwhile, the process of appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has also started. The committee has decided the eligibility criteria and applications have been invited till July 18. At the same time, the Supreme Court will hear on July 13 the petitions demanding an independent investigation into the financial irregularities related to the trust. On the other hand, Trust member Mahant Dinendra Das Maharaj denied the news related to VIP Darshan Pass and said that no change has been made in the system of issuing the pass.
