Varanasi Zone’s 43rd Inter-district Badminton and Table Tennis Cluster Competition-2026 successfully concluded

The 43rd Inter-district Badminton and Table Tennis Cluster Competition-2026 of Varanasi Zone, organized from 10 July 2026 to 12 July 2026 at Police Line Churk, District Sonbhadra, concluded successfully today on 12.07.2026. Players from all the districts of Varanasi zone participated enthusiastically in the competition and displayed excellent sportsmanship, discipline and sportsmanship. All competitions were conducted in a fair and transparent manner as per the prescribed rules.
On the occasion of the closing ceremony, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma honored the winners and runners-up with trophies and awards and congratulated all the participants for their excellent performance. In his address, he said that sports develop physical and mental strength as well as discipline, leadership ability, self-confidence and team spirit. Such events play an important role in promoting efficiency, coordination and positive competition of the police force.

He called upon all the players to take the glorious sports tradition of Uttar Pradesh Police to new heights by performing excellently with the same enthusiasm and dedication in the future also. In the badminton team championship (men’s category), Commissionerate Varanasi was the winner and district Azamgarh was the runner-up. In the women’s category, Commissionerate Varanasi was the winner and district Sonbhadra was the runner-up. In the table tennis team championship (men’s category), district Mau was the winner and district Mirzapur was the runner-up, while in the women’s category, district Sonbhadra was the winner and district Jaunpur was the runner-up.
In the Badminton Open Championship (Men’s Singles), constable Govind Yadav of Commissionerate Varanasi was the winner and sub-inspector Rajan Yadav of Commissionerate Varanasi was the runner-up. In the women’s single category, woman chief constable Richa Yadav of Varanasi Commissionerate was the winner and Akanksha Buddh of Ghazipur district was the runner-up.
In the Table Tennis Open Championship (Men’s Singles), Atishya Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police, Jaunpur district was the winner and Constable Chandrakant Verma of Ballia district was the runner-up. In the women’s single category, Neha Giri, a female constable from Sonbhadra district, was the winner and Archana, a female constable from Sonbhadra district was the runner-up. Apart from this, players who performed excellently in various other events of the competition were also honoured.
On the closing occasion, Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra expressed gratitude to all the senior officers, jury, organizing committee, technical officers, team managers, participating players and all the officers and employees who cooperated directly and indirectly for their contribution in the successful organization of the competition. He expressed confidence that such sports competitions will further strengthen the physical efficiency, mental strength, discipline, team spirit and mutual coordination among the police personnel and will continue to provide new energy to the sports culture of Uttar Pradesh Police in future also.
