India Weather Update 13 July 2026: Monsoon is raining with its full force in many parts of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released the latest and detailed weather bulletin of the country for July 13, 2026. According to the Meteorological Department, the Monsoon Trough is currently active towards east-south-east till South Assam through Sri Ganganagar, Hisar, Meerut, Shahjahanpur, Gorakhpur and Muzaffarpur.

Along with this, there are different changes in the atmosphere of north-eastern Bihar, south Bangladesh and north-eastern Assam. Strong Cyclonic Circulations Are made. Due to these powerful weather systems, warnings of heavy to very heavy rainfall have been issued in 11 states of the country including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Red/Orange alert of torrential and ‘very heavy’ rain in these 3 states

According to meteorologists, there is a strong possibility of torrential and extremely heavy rains along with severe thunder in different parts of three major states on July 13. People living in these areas have been asked to take special precautions to avoid waterlogging, flood-like situations and lightning:

Warning of ‘heavy rain’ in these 8 states including Eastern UP and Uttarakhand

Due to monsoon winds and active weather system over the mountains, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of heavy rain in 8 other states of the country. Moderate to heavy rainfall with strong winds may occur in these areas:

  • Eastern Uttar Pradesh

  • Uttarakhand

  • Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim

  • Odisha

  • Arunachal Pradesh

  • Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura (All North Eastern States)

There will be storm, lightning and winds blowing at a speed of 50 km/hour.

Along with rain, the Meteorological Department has issued a severe forecast of lightning and gusty winds at high speed in many states:

  • Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh: There is a possibility of stormy winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and lightning at some places in these areas.

  • Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana: In different parts of these states, gusty winds will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km/hour and there may be lightning along with thunder.

  • Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim and North-Eastern States: Here a special warning has been given about lightning along with strong thunder at different places. At the same time, in some plain areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, dusty winds can blow at very high speed on the surface.

While on one hand the monsoon is raining heavily in North, Central and Eastern India, on the other hand in some areas of South and Coastal India the weather is going to be just the opposite:

  • Coastal Andhra Pradesh: Severe heat wave conditions will persist in different parts of the region.

  • Odisha and Tamil Nadu (Puducherry and Karaikal): With the increase in temperature in some parts of these areas, the weather is going to be extremely hot and humid, due to which normal life can be affected.

High alert in the sea for fishermen: Waves will rise at a speed of 65 km/hour

In view of the possible storm and extremely strong winds in the sea, the Meteorological Department has given strict instructions to the fishermen not to go into the coastal areas and deep sea:

  • Arabian Sea: Strong winds reaching 45-55 km/hr very likely over west-central, east-central, most parts of North and South-West Arabian Sea, along and off Somalia and Oman coasts along and off North Gujarat coasts. Top speed of 65 km/h Can reach.
