‘True Hindu does not pretend to be a religion’ Annamalai’s language changed after distance from BJP
Former state president of Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) K. Annamalai has given an important statement regarding religion, caste and politics. He said that a true Hindu does not display his religion, but treats all people equally. Discussion on this statement of Annamalai has started in political and social circles.
Annamalai said this during the ‘Drug-Free Pollachi Awareness Conference’ organized by his organization ‘We the Leaders’ in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. He said that he is a proud Indian, nationalist and Hindu but when he leaves the house he leaves his caste and religion behind. He believes that all citizens should be treated equally in public life.

In his address, Annamalai said that a true Hindu never considers any person as high or low. He gives importance to the feeling of equality, brotherhood and unity in the society. He said that there is no need to display or propagate religion all the time. According to him, taking all people along is the real spirit of Hinduism. His statement has also become a topic of discussion on social media.
‘We the Leaders’ will become a political party
Annamalai has also given hints about the future of his new organization ‘We the Leaders’. He said that this organization will take the form of a political party at the appropriate time and will play an active role in the politics of Tamil Nadu. However, he did not reveal the date of formation of the party. It is noteworthy that Annamalai had started a new political movement after resigning from BJP last month and has also expressed his intention to contest assembly elections in future.

Expressed confidence in youth in 2031 elections
In his speech Annamalai laid special emphasis on the role of youth. He claimed that youth under 39 years of age had played an important role in the change of power in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and the youth will bring a big change in the 2031 elections also. He said that 54 percent of the members associated with ‘We the Leaders’ are below 35 years of age and about 17 percent are women who are part of the organization. Along with this, he set a target of planting 50 lakh trees in the next six months and also appealed to the people to join the campaign for environmental protection.
