Key technical features of the project
Mahametro has incorporated many important technical features to make this mega project modern and dynamic. The biggest highlight of this is the double-decker flyover being constructed in collaboration with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in the 17-km phase between Bhosari and Chakan. On this double-decker flyover, the road traffic will run on the lower level and the metro will run directly from the upper level, which will save a lot of space. Also, four state-of-the-art multimodal transport hubs will be developed along the route to enable commuters to easily change from Metro to PMPML, ST buses or their own private vehicles. Mahametro has designed this line to permanently break the traffic jam in the future.Further in future, Mahametro plans to connect this line to Nigdi to Chakan via Talwad to create a ring metro network for Pimpri-Chinchwad city.
